During this webinar, we will employ RUS to map build-up areas in the
surroundings of Bochum, Germany using a supervised classification (random
forest algorithm) and coherence derived from Sentinel-1 SLC data.
We will show you how to access the RUS Service and how to download,
process, analyze and visualize the free data acquired by the Copernicus
satellites.
The large
volume of data systematically acquired by the Sentinel satellites may pose
constraints to downloading, processing and overall exploitation of the data.
Modern technologies - such as cloud computing may alleviate this issue.
During
this session you will become familiar with a cloud computing facility – in
particular the RUS environment and will learn how to request a RUS virtual
machine for Earth Observation projects and activities exploiting the Copernicus
Sentinel data.
The demo
will take place during the 12th International Conference of the
African Association of Remote Sensing and the Environment (AARSE2018).
This 2 full day hands-on training course is organized by RUS and the Technical
University of Denmark / DTU Space.
The RUS
training course will include formal theory lectures as well as hands-on
exercises, where you will access from your own laptop a Virtual Machine to
exploit the open source toolboxes available in the RUS environment to download
and process the data.
New
additions to our RUS e-learning
courses!!!
All the courses are available in French with English subtitles.
